Welcome from our Headteacher
|
It is a real privilege to introduce myself as the Headteacher of Thatcham Park Church of England Primary and Nursery School and to welcome you to our school website.
Choosing a school for your child is an important decision. We know families want their children to be happy, safe and well supported. They also want them to enjoy learning, make good friends and be known by the adults around them. That is what we want for every child at Thatcham Park.

Our Christian vision, “Encourage one another and build each other up”, sits at the heart of school life. It guides our relationships and the way we support every child to grow in confidence. As a Church of England school, our Christian foundation shapes who we are and how we treat one another. We warmly welcome families of all backgrounds, faiths and beliefs.
At Thatcham Park, our values of Community, Compassion, Respect, Wisdom, Thankfulness and Endurance are part of everyday life. They help children understand how to care for others, make good choices and demonstrate resilience.
We have high expectations for learning and want every child to flourish and make strong progress, whatever their starting point. Children should leave Thatcham Park with secure foundations and a real sense of what they are capable of.
Just as importantly, we want children to enjoy their time with us. Primary school should be full of friendship, discovery and memorable experiences. It should give children the confidence to try new things and the freedom to develop their own interests.
Parents and carers are an important part of our school community. We believe children do best when home and school work closely together, so we place great value on positive relationships with families.
Thank you for visiting our website. I hope it gives you a sense of life at Thatcham Park and what we want for every child. If you are considering our school, we would be very pleased to welcome you for a tour and give you the opportunity to see our vision in action.
Warm regards,
Mr Tom Smith
