Science Week is an exciting annual event at Thatcham Park, giving pupils the opportunity to explore, investigate and develop their curiosity about the world around them. Through a range of hands‑on experiments and practical challenges, pupils are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas and think like scientists.

Across the week, pupils take part in a variety of investigative activities, from exploring forces and materials to designing and testing their own creations. These experiences allow pupils to develop problem‑solving skills, resilience and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts through active learning. 

Science Week supports our vision of encouraging one another and building each other up, as pupils collaborate, share ideas and learn from both successes and mistakes. They are encouraged to reflect on their learning, explain their thinking and support others in developing their understanding.

As a result, pupils develop confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of enquiry, recognising that asking questions and exploring ideas are key to understanding the world and contributing positively to it.
